It doesn't matter who said I love you first... Selena Gomez is making everybody blush. In cream, dewy, matte liquid, luminous powder, and now soft matte powder varieties.
On March 27, Rare Beauty is launching the Soft Pinch Matte Bouncy Blush, a matte powder blush that's joining the brand's stellar lineup of skin-flushing formulas. Originally announced back in February at a Galentine's Day event, it's a product worth the wait.
Ahead, discover everything there is to know about the new launch—including Gomez's favorite application tips.
The Inspiration
Billed as "a cushiony cream-to-powder blush that gives the dreamiest flush of color with a lasting, blurred matte finish," Soft Pinch Matte Bouncy Blush was crafted to fill a hole in the otherwise pretty perfect Rare Beauty blush lineup. We had luminous powders, and we needed matte.
Rare Beauty
Available in seven of the brand's signature affirmation-named colors (you'll find the nude mauve Hope, cool pink Happy, true-rose Worth, soft-red Grateful, soft-plum Truth, bright-raspberry Thriving, and bright-coral orange Alive), it can be worn bright and bold or blended our for a softer effect. Either way, it'll feel weightless.
“This gives you the dreamiest flush of color, and the putty texture is so fun to play with!” explains Gomez.

The Formula
Incredibly easy to apply (you can even layer it!), the bouncy, buildable putty formula features cacao seed and a nourishing blend of pomegranate, papaya seed, and rose hip oils to keep your skin hydrated.
When you put it on, it'll blend like a cream while retaining the smudgeproof blur of its water-, sweat-, and humidity-resistant powder structure. It's also cruelty-free, vegan, paraben-free, dermatologist-tested, and noncomedogenic.

How to Apply, Straight from Selena
In an exclusive video share with Byrdie, Gomez said that her favorite way to wear the blush is dabbing a little bit on with her fingers when she's on-the-go. "But I love my blush brush as well and it collects [the powder] so nicely, and then it's even on the skin and you can kind of tap it in," she adds.
She also swore you'll end up using your fingers just because you want to feel the blush's texture. "It's really, really fun," she says.
You can shop Soft Pinch Matte Bouncy Blush for $27 at sephora.com and rarebeauty.com beginning Thursday, March 27.
